Introducing: Lost Girl

Lost Girl focuses on the gorgeous and charismatic Bo (who has the stupidest name they could ever give to a pretty girl. Bo sounds like the neighbourhood bully 😐 ) a supernatural being called a succubus who feeds on the energy of humans, sometimes with fatal results. Refusing to embrace her supernatural clan and its rigid hierarchy, Bo is a renegade who takes up the fight for the underdog while searching for the truth about her own mysterious origins.

My first thought  was that the concept was very close to Sergei Lukyanenko’s Night Watch Tetralogy. It’s not something we haven’t seen before, of course, the fight between Light and Darkness but the story is interesting and the supernatural beings fresh and away from the usual vampire shows we’ve been flooded by recently (not that I com plain about TVD and TB ;P ). The creatures presented, called The Fae, so far were extremely interesting, some truly new and some taken out of folklore (will-o-wisp, succubus)

The acting in the first episode seemed a tad wooden but was certainly improved on the second one. I also really like shows that don’t count on special effects to grab people. Yeah, remember Transformers’ 2 epic fail? That’s what I’m talking about 😛

By the way Anna Silk looks so much like Amanda Righetti

Here are some screencaps:
