Well, my country doesn’t celebrate Halloween so this is just another boring Sunday around here which has fraked up my bio-clock due to daylight saving time change -.- Anyway, this is a good opportunity to admire the hardwork that went into these Jack-o-lanterns. Enjoy!

PS- If any of you has carved a nice sci-fi pumpkin leave a comment and I’ll feature you too!

And the award of the geekiest pumpkins out there goes to these two guys:

Stargate:Revolution news

Posted in Stargate with tags , , , , on October 6, 2010 by Geek Tv
Not the news I hoped for, but it’s news whatsoever so…

Brad Wright has confirmed that he is still keen to produce more projects expanding the worlds of Stargate SG-1 and Stargate: Atlantis. However, the producer told GateWorld that plans for two straight-to-DVD Stargate movies have been shelved. 😦

“The only thing that is blocking [those movies] is the fact that the direct-to-DVD market has gone away,” he argued. “We were very fortunate with [previous films] Ark of Truth and Continuum to be among the last very successful direct-to-DVD releases before it all stopped happening. The market has changed, and it’s still changing, and it’s not what it was.” Wright explained that he is now exploring the possibility of continuing both series in a new medium. “We were ready to go… and the climate never got better,” he said. “But that doesn’t mean it’s not gonna happen. We have a plan B and I’ve been talking with MGM about it. Hopefully we’ll still get our chance.”

You’d better >_< I’m still waiting for Sam/Jack resolution >_>

Robert C. Cooper leaves Stargate

From the blog of writer Joe Mallozzi:

A short and early blog entry today as I’m heading off to the first stop in Robert C. Cooper’s farewell victory tour. ”What’s that?” you say. You didn’t know hew was leaving? Well, yes. Sad but true. His appearance at this year’s Comic Con panel will mark his final Stargate-related contribution, so if you happen to be in the San Diego area in late July, make sure to say goodbye and thank him for fourteen years and countless hours of gate-tastic entertainment. But, please – no tears. If you start crying it’ll only be a matter of time before he starts crying as well (the ole softy) and that’ll just embarrass him.

Win tickets to Creation’s Minneapolis Stargate convention!

Posted in Stargate with tags , , , , , , , , on May 24, 2010 by Geek Tv

Gateworld has opened a contest

Do you have the second weekend in June free?  Feel like seeing stars from the Stargate franchise up close and personal?

If you answered “yes” to both questions, then you’re going to love this!

As we reported earlier this month, Minneapolis is the site of a brand new stop on Creation Entertainment’s Official Stargate Convention tour this year.  Creation is pulling out all the stops for a fun-filled, Stargate-themed weekend with several special guests, held at the Minneapolis Marriott City Center on June 12 and 13.

From the cast of Stargate Universe, Brian J. Smith (“Lt. Matthew Scott”) and Alaina Huffman (“Tamara Johansen”) will be dropping by on Saturday.  The day will also feature an appearance by SG-1 fan favorite Gary Jones (“Walter Harriman”).  Guests on Sunday include the “dynamic duo” of David Hewlett (“Rodney McKay”) and Joe Flanigan (“John Sheppard”).  Dan Shea (“Sgt. Siler”) will be on-hand for the convention both days and serving as host.

Wish you could go?  We can make that happen!

Creation has graciously donated a pair of Gold Weekend Passes, and we’re giving them away to one lucky person and a guest!  These tickets include excellent reserved seating for the entire weekend, complimentary in-person autographs from everyone attending (except Dan Shea), free admission to a celebrity dessert party featuring Smith, Jones and Shea — and much more.  The pair of tickets is valued at approximately $480.

To enter, just log on to GateWorld Forum (registration is free) and post a message in the contest thread explaining why you should be the one to win.  See the thread for full details.  You must be at least 18 years of age, and you must enter by midnight on the night of Friday, May 28.  We’ll contact the winner this weekend to give them the good news!

Be advised that this contest includes only tickets to the convention itself, and does not include travel or hotel accommodations.  The winner will be responsible for making and paying for those arrangements.  If you don’t live near Minneapolis, or can’t make last-minute travel arrangements to be there, please do not enter.

Special thanks to our friends at Creation Entertainment, and good luck!

Teal’c is delighted

New Stargate Convention

Posted in Stargate with tags , on May 7, 2010 by Geek Tv

Stargate fans living in the middle of the United States have a new reason to cheer:  a brand new convention in a decidedly unconventional location from previous years.

Creation Entertainment last week announced a brand-new stop in this year’s Official Stargate Convention tour.  Normally, each summer brings Creation and Stargate to the Windy City of Chicago for a Midwest convention (August).  But fans now have a brand new location to look forward to, as well.  And it’s right around the corner.

On June 12 and 13, Creation will hold its first Stargate convention at the Marriott City Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota.  Scheduled guests thus far include Atlantis’s Joe Flanigan (“John Sheppard”) and Brian J. Smith (“Lt. Matthew Scott”) from Stargate Universe. More guest announcements are forthcoming.

The annual, official convention tour also includes Vancouver, British Columbia (April) and Burbank, Calif. (November).

Us Europeans may as well suck it and not get any conventions 😐
