This is Halloween, this is halloween pumpkins scream in the dead of night!

Well, my country doesn’t celebrate Halloween so this is just another boring Sunday around here which has fraked up my bio-clock due to daylight saving time change -.- Anyway, this is a good opportunity to admire the hardwork that went into these Jack-o-lanterns. Enjoy!

PS- If any of you has carved a nice sci-fi pumpkin leave a comment and I’ll feature you too!

And the award of the geekiest pumpkins out there goes to these two guys:

Geeky Wedding Cakes that makes you wish you could get married again. Or soon :P

Posted in Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Doctor who, Geekery, Joss Whedon/Whedonverse with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on October 17, 2010 by Geek Tv

I have been planning to write this post since forever. I’ve been attacked with morning sickness, general headcolds, extreme frustration towards my job and several other stuff that could keep me moaning for ages but it is now time to make this (and the following) post come true!

Enjoy!

1. Game Over

I actually had this cake topper on my wedding cake. Lacking the Playstation, giant flat screen and red bull cans of course but I still had them all back home in RL size – minus the Red bull which you can replace by Ice tea cans and Milko bottles. I find it kinda silly that it is a PS3 console with an Xbox game on screen but the dude might as well have the Xbox on the other side of the TV, much like my hubby has hooked a PS3, a Wii and his Desktop PC on our flat screen 😛

You can get one here

2. Zombies

Till death do us apart? I think not. “Till Zombies eat your brains out and I have to kill you with a chainsaw” sounds more like it! Special Kudos to the geeky bride cause it takes guts (lol) to have this as your cake. I hope it’s not filled with brains.

3. Tim Burton

This is my geekgasm cakes.  I actually have Jack& Sally on the Swirly mountain figures and could easily use them as a cake topper but it didn’t even occur to me during planning my wedding. See my dad was pretty bad in his health back then (luckily he’s fine now) and we had to have a rushed wedding just in case. If I did it now it would be all geek/victorian/steampunk themed. ALL TOGETHER!
I really love the Burtonesque feeling of these two cakes. I bet they tasted like awesomeness would.

4. E-QUA-TE!

Dalek Cakes? Seriously? Man this is so twisted and fantastic it makes me wanna bounce ^^

5. Wii-Ntendo

I bet this would be my hubby’s choice of a topper since he’s a Nintendo nerd fanboy. I don’t think I’d look that good as a Mii though.

6.  Leia and Han Solo

I don’t really need to comment on this one. I just need to go Awwwwwww

7. Buffy& Angel

I’m more a Spike/Buffy shipper but this cake is so well made it makes me forget that at times. I really wish Buffy was holding a stake though…

8. Super Mario& Peach

Now that I think about it again THIS would be my hubby’s choice for a cake although I’d probably veto it since I really don’t do blond and pink 😛 The cake is so amazing though. I especially love the piranha plants!

9. Steampunk

This is a steampunk cake and its topper (if I recall corectly) I can really imagine the couple dancing their first dance to “Sleep Isabella” by Abney Park :B

10. Futurama

I love this one although I’d probably use Bender instead of Fry. LOL

11. Alien

LAst but not least is the Alien cake. A sculpting work (in fraking fondant!!) that could shame HR Giger himself. Seriously, the dude (or dudette) who made this cake is highly skilled and right down awesome. I personally LOATHE the “Alien” franchise not for any other reason than that I watched it very young and it gave me plenty of nightmares/made me scream my head off in a full theater *dies of embarassment* I should probably attempt to watch the films again though. I’m not really squeamish…

Couple announces wife’s pregnancy Star Wars Style

Posted in Geek Films, Geekery with tags , , , , , , , on August 12, 2010 by Geek Tv

Couples expecting a baby have often come up with amusing ways to announce their joyous news to the rest of the family. But if the couple happens to be huge Star Wars geeks, then are we completely surprised if they add a little Force to the announcement to make the baby message even more fun? No – not at all.

YouTube contributors Jennifer and Jeff recently had some wonderful news to pass along to the family and the world. And since Jeff is a major Star Wars fan, they decided to post their baby news via an edited movie clip from Star Wars – A New Hope.

Overall the Star Wars Baby News Clip is cute if not a little on the creepy side. But the irony of the movie clip is the couple is expecting twins. So naturally the Internet community is already screaming that they name the children Luke and Leia. Too bad the couple denies it 😛

TARDIS Cookie Jar and Dalec Sonic Toothbrush:D

Posted in Doctor who, Geekery, Merchandise/Gadgets with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , on April 27, 2010 by Geek Tv

What could be more fun than a cookie jar shaped like Doctor Who’s Tardis? A Doctor Who Tardis Taking Cookie Jar, well it doesn’t actually talk but it does feature some fun Doctor Who sound effects.

This fun Doctor Who Tardis Taking Cookie Jar measures 11 inches by 6 inches by 6 inches, although it may be bigger on the inside like the real Tardis.

‘The Talking TARDIS Cookie Jar will solve for x in a way that hearkens back to your single days. For starters, we’re pretty sure it’s bigger on the inside. But most importantly, it makes authentic TARDIS noises (which, we suppose is why they say it’s “talking” even though it doesn’t say any words). So when the cookie jar disappears from the kitchen counter and gets hidden somewhere else, you can feign ignorance and say, “It’s a TARDIS, it’s probably taking a quick trip to Pompeii.” When it reappears the next morning, you can point and shout with glee to welcome it back, knowing full well how many cookies it contains. ‘

If you want one, the Doctor Who Tardis Taking Cookie Jar is available for $26.99 from Think Geek but the shipping is (as always) too expensive for my country 😦

Keep your teeth fresh ‘n clean with this great sonic toothbrush straight from Doctor Who! Available from Forbidden Planet from the 15th of August. Can you say /want?
