Supernatural: 5×21 Two Minutes to Midnight (late and spoilery) recap

Posted in Supernatural with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on May 8, 2010 by Geek Tv

The lies are over folks. We have reached the penultimate episode of Supernatural’s fifth season.

Pestilence has moved to Iowa, where he’s playing doctor at a nursing home or hospital and giving the patients all sorts of nasty diseases. Dengue Fever, Japanese Encephalitis and the Chicken Pox to name a few. Luckily Pesty isn’t as gross as he was the last time we saw hi- Yes, thanks for the green vomit pal. In the words of wise Giles “You’ve ruined food for me”.

A day earlier the brothers have returned to Bobby’s house before heading off to find Pestilence. Sam apparently has told Dean about his possible plan to say yes to Lucifer to trap him back in the cage. Yay! Step one for brother re-bonding :3 I still think this is a BAD BAD BAD BAD BAD BAD BAD BAD BAD BAD plan and it seems Dean agrees with me. It might be my soft spot for Sam or it might be REALITY KICKING IN!! The phone rings and it is -OMG- Castiel! I missed that dude so much. He’s alive but in a hospital and feels incredibly…human. Turns out the voodoo he worked the last time we saw him drained all his Angelic Mojo. The whole scene is hilarious when Cas describes the pain and itch 😀 Then Castiel apologises to Dean for not believing in him and tells him how proud he is Dean said no to Michael.

The boys head off to Pestilence’s current location in Iowa and take over the security office, trying to figure out which one is Pestilence. They eventually figure it out when he seems to have a buzz on the surveillance cameras following his head.. They try to sneak there but a demon recognises them And if you didn’t realise it was a demon before the eyes went black then you seriously haven’t been watching SPN long enough or enough at all! The demon-nurse notifies Pestilence (who’s still covered in green icky stuff ew ew ew EW!!!) about the boys and tells him they should leave because the Winchesters have a habit of offing horsemen but he decides to unleash the whole Pandora’s Box on them despite Lucifer’s wish/command that the vessels aren’t to be harmed. If Lucy wants them then he can glue them back together. Bwahaha. Right…

Pestilence pollutes the boys with several stuff like scarlet fever, meningitis, and syphilis (again ew) and they lie helpless on the floor, coughing up blood. Pestilence starts the villain talk about how beautiful and pure disease is and that the humans are the ones who are disgusting. Then we have a Deus ex machine, or should I say an angelus ex machina? 😛 That’s right! Castiel saves the day. He apparently got there by bus (LOL – I love that guy ♥) but is obviously affected by the disease spree which makes Pesty really happy since he realises he’s out of angel mojo. Castiel though, catches him off-guard and severs his ring finger. Whoa that was easy… Wasn’t it?  :S However, Pestilence doesn’t seem all too bothered by being several fingers short and disappears telling the guys that “It’s too late”. The guys are healed but are left clearly worried.

Back at Bobby’s place again where Bobby reveals that Death will be in Chicago and that he plans to lay waste to the city, killing 3 million people giving a shitload of details making the Winchesters wonder how he knows so much. The Crowley Tadas and tells them that Bobby did “loan” his soul for Death’s location. Crowley says he will give it back and he seems honest. As honest as a demon can get 😐 The only thing Sam manages to blurt out is whether Bobby kissed Crowley to which Bobby replies a repulsed “NO!”. I was in the middle of telling my hubby that Crowley must have made the bank guy (earlier in the season) to kiss him because he was homophobic but didn’t finish my sentnce as I snorted up my soda when Crowley popped an iPhone and showed the guys the picture of Bobby kissing him, tongue and all LMAO. I cry xD

Sam seems to have mutated into a very calm, down to earth and modest version of himself and admits to Dean that he might be too weak to take on Lucifer and win and contrary to his whole annoying attitude in season 4 (I STILL LOVE YOU SAMMY) he thinks the others are way better men than he. However him saying yes seems like the only plan. Crowley interrupts them and tells them that Niveus Pharmaceuticals (Brady’s medicine company, remember?) will be shipping its swine flu vaccine across the country which is spiked with the croatoan virus. Bwahahaha I didn’t get a vaccine against swine flu! EAT THAT! (Although I did catch swine flu and survived it, rendering the vaccine useless on moi)

Did you watch the promo/commercial with the “O Death” song?  Yup, it showed up in this episode, completely  with music and all Death is strolling in Chicago offing passer bys. The unlikely group splits up: Crowley and Dean are off to Chicago to get Death’s ring, while Sam, Bobby and Castiel are going to try to stop the croatoan virus. Sam muses about when times were simple and they only hunted down ghosts and wendigos. Then out of NOWHERE Crowley hands Dean a scythe that can supposedly kill Death. Well, Death’s own scythe. Then, again out of NOWHERE Crowley reveals he has given Bobby back his walking mojo as part of the deal! Bobby’s back bitch!! And he obviously is very happy, so happy that he spends the night going up and down stairs lmao.

Castiel reveals that he believes Sam’s crazy plan might work because he thinks that Sam might be able to resist Lucifer but warns him that to take in Lucifer, Sam would have to drink gallons of demon blood… Then he drops the (well, expected) bomb: Michael has found another vessel and it is no one other than Adam. I expect Adam will die (again) in the finale cause I really find it unlikely to have him join Sam and Dean in the next season. Sorry man, you apparently are a red shirt.

Bobby, Sam and Castiel arrive on the Niveus warehouse and  come up with an elaborate plan soon to be obsolete because a shipment is leaving earlier than they thought. Sam and Bobby enter the warehouse and off the zombies. Sam helps the civilians escape (and boy was he Hot in that scene. I LOVE YOU JARED!! Hahaha)  Eventually they manage to destroy the virus and then it is Chicago time!

Dean and Crowley arrive in Chicago, but it turns out Crowley was wrong about Death’s exact location but then he accidentally finds him in a pizzeria. Must be a killer pizza. Dean’s intend to enter the restaurant quitely fails since we’re talking about Death himself now, not some kind of reaper. Death then quickly reclaims the scythe from Dean and invites him to join him for pizza. For a moment there I thought he was going to ask Dean to play chess and Dean would curse that Sam wasn’t along 😛  We learn that Death is the oldest of all the horsemen and possibly even older than God and declares that one day he will reap God  as well :S He is also uberly miffed that Lucifer has somehow managed to bind Death to his will. One of the oldest entities in the universe bound to a fallen angel on a tantrum. Nice.  Then (as I expected) Death offers Dean a deal. He will give Dean his ring in order to trap Lucifer again, as well as instructions on how to do so and in exchange, Dean will have to whatever it takes to defeat Lucifer even if that means that he has to allow Sam to say yes to Lucifer.  Dean agrees, but Death warns him not to make false promises, you can’t cheat death after all.

Dean is back in Bobby’s yard, playing around with the four horsemen rings, which are magnetised to each other.Bobby comes along and Dean realises that he made Death a promise he never planned to keep when he agreed to use Sam to defeat Lucifer. Bobby tells Dean that he thinks they may be too hard on Sammy and that he might be more capable of defeating Lucifer than they thought.  He wonders what Dean is more scared of, losing the war or losing his brother? Well duh, what do you think?

The episode ends leaving the boys to deal with a shitload of stuff for the season finale. I really hope they wrap up the arch in season 5 and won’t drag it onto season 6. I’ll be very disappointed if they do 😐 I was very happy at the steadily rebuilding relationship of the brothers. I also loved that they didn’t kill Death. It would seem a bit arrogant I guess. It was a very nice episode. I especially loved the part that lightnings lit up Death’s face making him look ominous and cold(er)

Doctor Who: 5×05 Flesh and Stone recap -Spoilers

The episode starts exactly where last week’s one left us at. The Doctor’s party jump and they find themselves caught by the Byzantium’s still existent gravity field. They have also landed on the outside of the Byzantium, upside down. They enter the ship, but are -of course-  followed by the Angels. Father Octavian once again threatens River and my suspicions that she’s a prisoner are confirmed. The Doctor and the others manage to escape and enter the control room and through a hidden door there discover the Oxygen Factory of the ship- a borg tree forest! I’ve seen forests meant for production of oxygen on spaceships before (Sunshine, for instance) but a borg tree forest, man that’s fantastic and makes my geeky smile emerge. Amy seems similarly impressed by it but then Angel Bob calls the Doctor. As Bob reveals the plan of the Angels to absorb the entire universe they realise that Amy is being a creep and has been counting downwards from ten for several minutes without realising it. Just then the Doctor notices a crack on the wall, the exact shape of the one that has been so far following us through the season, bar the previous episode. The Doctor sends everyone away through the forest and stays behind to examine it only to declare that “That’s extremely very not good” before noticing he is surrounded by Angels.

In the meantime Amy obviously doesn’t feel very well and lies down in the forest in fetal position, grasping her head. Back in the control room the Doctor escapes, minus his coat, and follows the others.  They figure out that Amy has a Weeping Angel in the visual centres of her mind. The Doctor tells her if she opens her eyes for more than a second, the Angel will escape and she will die. So as Amy is unable to see the Doctor leaves her with the clerics to protect her from the incoming Angels as the Doctor, River and Father Octavian head off to find a way to stop the Angels and Octavian drops the bomb that River is his prisoner.

The Angels start to tamper with the connections of the borg trees to make the lights flicker and keep on advancing on Amy and the clerics. The Doctor has an epiphany and realises that Time can be rewritten while back in the forest the Angels leave when a light comes from the vault. Two clerics go to investigate and Amy opens here eyes for (less than) a second to state that it’s the same crack from her wall. The remaining clerics forget about the existence of the other two, and then a third cleric goes to investigate. The one remaining cleric forgets about the others’ existence, questioning Amy. But then he also goes to check the light out, leaves Amy his communicator and disappears.

The Doctor and Father Octavian continue, but an Angel grabs Father Octavian by the neck. Apparently they’re not benign anymore and have devised different ways to kill than send you back in time. We saw that in the previous ep as well but then I supposed it was because they were extremely weakened. Before Octavian is killed, he tells the Doctor that River Song was a prisoner because she killed a man; a good man then tells the Doctor to leave him. The Doctor is shaken and as he does leave we can hear the Father’s neck snapping. The Doctor enters the next room where is River with a teleport device which is apparently dead though.

Amy manages to contact the Doctor and tells him that the clerics are gone. The Doctor says the crack is Time itself running out and that’s why the clerics wouldn’t remember each other. He then tells Amy she must go to him to the control room. And with her eyes closed, she follows his sonic screwdriver signal. Amy demands of the Doctor to tell her what the crack would do to her and he says that it would erase her from time itself. She would have never been born. The Doctor speculates that the crack is allowing time to be rewritten and River asks him how they can close it, with the Doctor retorts that a complicated space-time event can close it: himself. He did seem to snap at people loads in this episode, no?

The Angels arrive and surround Amy, whose communicator starts to beep to indicate there are Angels around her. The Doctor tells her that the Angels are still scared and just follow their instincts around her to freeze to stone, but Amy soon gives herself away as blind and the Angels close in to kill her but just in time, River teleports her to the control room. The Doctor exclaims that he could just kiss River to which she replies “Maybe when you’re older” which rules out the rumour that River is the Doctor’s mum.

All the Angels gather at the entrance of the room as they drain energy from the doors, which then open. Angel Bob, demands that the Doctor throws himself into the crack in order to save the Angels, Amy and River from it. River, as a time traveller, wants to throw herself in but the Doctor laughs at the idea, claiming that she is not even as complicated as one Angel and that only all the Angels are equivalent to him. Given this, the Doctor tells his friends to hold on to something and he collapses the artificial gravity, sending all the frozen Angels into the crack similar to vanquishing the Cybermen and Daleks in Doomsday.. This is enough to seal it, erasing them all from existence. The group escapes to the outside of the temple, Amy safe now that the Angel in her mind has been erased from time. They remember those erased from time because they are time travellers themselves. River tells the Doctor she will see him again when the Pandorica opens and that the man she murdered was the best man she’d ever known which makes me believe that she killed the Doctor himself :S I also look forward to see Pandorica and River once again! She is then teleported back to the penal ship, with the remaining clerics.

Amy tells the Doctor to take her home where, she reveals to him that she is getting married in the morning and tries to seduce him. LMAO I didn’t see that one coming. Out of all the companions (except Donna of course) Amy is the one I least expected to make a move on the Doctor 😛 He declines and realises that she is at the centre of all the cracks and that the time explosion which created them occurs today, the day of her wedding which is (if all episodes are not interrupted) the final episode date of Series 5. He quickly whisks her away in order to try to sort the issue out.

😀

I love Steven Moffat. To pieces. This episode has once again lived up to my expectations! The Weeping Angels are seen moving for the first time! This was creepy and fantastic! It sure left us with way more questions about River though. I really really believe she killed the Doctor :s

There’s a funny moment where River says that it must always end with handcuffs with her and the Doctor. This is unknowingly referencing “Forest of the Dead” where River cuffed herself to a post to help the Doctor survive, thus sacrificing herself.

In overall I really enjoyed the episode but would probably enjoy it more with subtitles :/ Matt Smith talks very fast and entertaining as that may be, he is really difficult to follow without subs :S

Screencaps time!

Supernatural: 5×20 The Devil You Know recap

Posted in Supernatural with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on May 1, 2010 by Geek Tv

The episode begins in a similar manner with 28 Days later (I believe the roots of the Croatoan virus lie in this film :3) It’s a lab full of monkeys and lab rats. They’re apparently working on the swine flu vaccine. A “supervisor” appears out of the blue and stabs one of the lab doctors with an injection. Turns out it’s the Croatoan virus. Human attacks human and creates a gorey mess.

Sam and Dean once again fake ID and pretend to be part of the CDC. They want to know if any of the flu victims are exhibiting signs of homicidal tendencies. The doctor obviously think they’re nuts but says that almost two days earlier no one was suffering from the flu, now there are over 70 cases at the hospital. It can’t be a coincidence that statues started crying around the same time. (Again NOT smart to mention that in front of the doc) Seems like a definite job of Pestilence.

Crowley, the crossroads demon we first met in “Abandon All Hope” pops in on Sam and Dean while they’re in the Impala. The brothers immediately try to kill him. The Winchesters have such good reflexes hehehehe. The brothers are extremely (and with every right) angered at him since he was the one that gave them the Colt to take down Lucifer and the Colt didn’t do a thing. And even worse, Jo and Ellen died in the process. (I still believe they’ll somehow pop back alive and yell SURPRISE! 😐 ) Crowley, though, says he still wants to take down Lucifer and says how to get Pestilence. He’s in an even bigger hurry to stop the apocalypse because Lucifer now knows Crowley’s out to get him which makes him a wanted demon. Crowley also knows about the rings of the Horsemen as he had his valet hide a magical tracking device in the Metallicar the night the Winchesters broke into his house. Son of a… He knows everything  claims he has heard. He tells the boys they have to track down a demon whose job it is to handle the itinerary for the Horsemen. You know, running over the logistics, restocking on sugar and coffee around the office and all. LOL.

This demon, Brady, works for a pharmaceuticals company (Niveus) and they have a vaccine that will “help cure” the recent flu outbreak. After an executive meeting the demon, Brady slits the throat of one of his employees (because the poor man said he was doing his best :S) and uses his blood to call Pestilence.

An increasingly angry Sam doesn’t want to listen to Crowley while Dean doesn’t see any reason not to listen to him.  Sam has been listening to Demons forever though and is probably sick of it. Dean, however, believes Crowley which might be the stupidest thing ever but what choice do they have? Crowley takes Dean on the Brady mission leaving Sam behind (in spite of Sam’s will) Sam’s, of course, not happy about it. He calls Bobby and the two share a drink while Sam tells him what just happened. Sam then asks Bobby about the time he was possessed and he took back his body. That’s how he ended up in the wheelchair. Anyway, Sam wants to know how he did it. Sam’s thinking he can say yes to Lucifer but somehow take back possession long enough to lock him in the cage. I really saw this one coming. Ever since the end of the last episode I expected Sammy would suggest/do something incredibly stupid like this.  Bobby tells Sam how ridiculous the idea really is but Sam says he won’t do it not unless they all agree. As I said: I expect bro showdown

Dean and Crowley, show up at Niveus to get Brady. Crowley kills a couple of the guards and forces Dean to godo the deed alone and sends him up to the executive floor. Dean faces Brady who wants nothing to do with the rings Dean is “offering” him. He says he just wants retribution for Dean rendering War and Famine useless. Brady startsbeating Dean down badly. Dean retreas in shock only to lead Brady into the open arms or rather Demon Trap-Bag. Oh yeah. THAT was the plan o_O

Crowley carves stuff on Brady’s chest to make sure the demon’s locked in the meat suit. He then tells Dean to head in a different direction because they can’t take Brady back to his brother because the two have a history. AND AT THIS MOMENT I get an epiphany and remember where I know the bs from! Dean stops the car and demands to know the details.

Sam is waiting impatiently at the cabin and goes to Dean who’s tying up the prisoner. Dean asks Sam to focus and stay on mission and hopes that Sam won’t let his anger mess him up. Sam finally finds out that the prisoner is his best friend from Stanford. The one who introduced him to Jessica. OK, did have an epiphany before but I’d never imagine this hadn’t it been for the previous scene 😛  Turns out that Brady’s been a demon  all along. Sam of course is mad. Crowley fails to get the whereabouts of Pestilence out of Brady and Sam locks Dean in the bathroom and goes after his ex-best friend. Brady explains how the Yellow-Eyed Demon had Brady possessed after it looked like they were losing Sam. A possessed Brady introduced him to Jessica, waited for them to fall in love and then “toasted her on the ceiling.” Poor poor Sammy and poor Jessica 😦 Brady then proceeds on describing in detail the night he killed Jessica. Sam angrily takes the knife to Brady’s throat but refrains from killing him! Way to go Sammy ❤

Crowley comes back and he lets Brady know he’s also a wanted demon. Hahaha this was golden! Unfortunately, right then a hellhound howls and apparently everyone is afraid of the hellhounds. Even Demons. I especially liked the detail of Dean freaking out at the mere thought of the hellhounds as he did die from them. Anyway, the hellhound apparently followed Crowley back  which is all right though. Crowley brings over his own pet hellhound (My dog is bigger than yours)  A friggin cool invisible hell hound fight ensues. Loved the effects :3 The Winchesters, Crowley and Brady flee. They manage to get the whereabouts of Pestilence out of Brady and Crowley leaves. Then you notice Sammy who is standing very very still and looks very very angry. Dean salts the way out for Brady and it’s Sammy revenge showdown time. Sam is about to fry the demon but then Brady starts saying that the reason why Sam fell for what Brady and Ruby and the YED was because they all have the same stuff running through their veins and deep down he’s just like them. Sam though drives the knife home and offs the annoying frak for good.  Sam’s priceless response to Brady “Interesting theory.”

Bobby’s on the phone with Rufus but then Crowley shows up and wants Bobby to make a deal with him. Crowley needs a soul in order to work up some magic that’ll get him the location for the fourth and final horseman. He says it’s only temporary, that he’ll give the soul back and it seems Bobby is considering it :S Ouch, ouch ouch! Hello??? Demons lie all the time Bobby, you’re better than that!

WOW

I never seem able to stop saying wow after an SPN episode. This one really reminded me a bit of Season 2. The atmosphere was very similar. And I missed the black eyed sobs! I am really happy with Sam who proved he could control himself when he didn’t kill Brady the first time around but I also loved him offing the bastard in the end. If there’s one death he deserved to deliver this was the one. I utterly adored Jared’s performance in this episode. The guy rocks, he has proven that many times, but he was fantastic. He generates the anger vibe so well you might start wondering if he’s not an angry person himself 😛

I posted the screencaps earlier so here’s a link to the screencap post:

The Vampire Diaries: 1×20 Blood Brothers Recap

Posted in The Vampire Diaries with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on May 1, 2010 by Geek Tv

Wow, talk about a PROGRESS episode. It left me speechless! Here’s the recap :3

While Stefan is sitting in his cage, brooding and dazed he flashes back to the night that he and Damon tried to rescue Katherine.

[Past] Stefan and Damon hide from the lynch mob led by Jonathan Gilbert and devise a plan to help Katherine without being noticed. While they’re at it, they are both shot and left for dead by an unseen member of the mob.

[present] Stefan lies on the ground flashing from past to present. Damon and Elena try to wake him up and he realises that his ring was taken from his finger. Outside, Elena and Damon are (once again) bickering about why they opted for locking Stefan up. Elena, of course, did it out of love while Damon -Of course!- did it to avoid having the city council on his arse

[Past] Stefan awakes the next morning shocked and stunned that he is still alive. Emily is there (for a moment I thought it was Bonnie lol) and explains that they had Katherine’s blood in their system when they died. They’re still, however, transitioning. Emily also reveals that Katherine compelled Stefan to drink from her while Damon did so willingly and that Katherine had her make the rings a while back, meaning she was planning to turn the brothers anyway.

Stefan goes to talk to Damon. Damon is devastated and way different to the Damon we are used to. He tells Stefan about how he saw the mob drag Katherine inside the church and set it on fire.

Anna shows up at school and meets with Jeremy who incredulously asked her why she wants to go to high school as “it blows”. She says it is to get to hang out with him more and they kiss. Awww! I’ve been waiting for this hook up. Jeremy deserves someone good after all he’s been through! Damon tries to get Stefan to drink, but her refuses, continuing to brood in self-pity. Damon says he doesn’t cares if he starves and goes upstairs where he receives a call from Alaric who tells him about a possible location of Isobel’s whereabouts.

Elena has gone home to get a change of clothes and calls Damon to find out what type of blood Stefan drinks, to which Damon replies that Stefan prefers golden retriever puppies. LOL. When she hangs up, she closes her wardrobe door to find creepy uncle Gilbert behind it. This man is such an efftard, mocking Elena and telling her what would her mother think if she knew Elena was dating a vampire. Elena seems striken at first but then smugly replies “Which ‘mother?'” Bwahahah good going Elena!

[Past] We’re by the lake again and the Salvatores wonder whether their father knows of their deaths, but Damon says that their dad betrayed them. Eventually, they both decide to die and fight the change since Katherine, their sole reason to turn, (for all they know) is dead. Damon says he want it over.

[Present] Elena returns to the mansion and visits Stefan and begs him to eat but Stefan replies that he would rather just die which obviously shocks her. He even uses Damon’s exact words that he wants it over. Elena in the next scene is upstairs with Damon and asks him why would Stefan say something like that, but Damon says he believes it has to do with feeding from Amber. He then suggests to Elena to stay upstairs while he goes out (to meet Alaric) but Elena says he does trust Stefan too or he wouldn’t leave.

Creepy asshat Uncle Gilbert is meeting Pearl at the Mystic Grill to discuss the device Jon is looking for. Pearl wonders why in the world Jon thinks she will give it to him, but Jon says that he can win her with his Gilbert charm, since the original John Gilbert did so as well. The scene turns to Jeremy and Anna who is telling Jeremy that her mom loved Jon Gilbert. She also tells him about his betrayal to Pearl. But Anna wants to talk about other stuff and warns Jeremy that his uncle is a vampire hater and wants them dead. She also tells him that Jeremy is her weakness. That’s so so so cute :3 They begin to make love… In the meantime, the unlikely duo, Damon and Alaric get to the place they believe they’ll find Isobel. Instead they discover that it is another vampire who stays there. This vamp’s name is Henry and he recognises Damon from the tomb.

[Past] Stefan goes to the Salvatore house, where he can hear Daddy Salvatore and Johnathan Gilbert talking. They are archiving the events of the Battle of Willow Creek in the Founder’s journal, but Daddy Salvatore insists on listing Stefan and Damon as dying as “innocent victims, and not their shame.”

In the Present, Elena goes downstairs to talk to Stefan and make sure he has eaten, but he hasn’t. He demands for her to leave, but Elena walks into the cage and demands for Stefan to drink. After telling her numerous times of the danger she is in, Stefan charges at her, in all vampy-mode. Elena, however stands her ground and doesn’t even flinch, giving a strong “NO!”. This seems to kick some sense in Stefan who resumes brooding on his bed.

Damon asks Henry about how did he get the house and Henry reveals that Jon Gilbert is helping him with everything in exchange of keeping his ear to the ground about the other Tomb Vampires. Henry doesn’t want revenge, but he knows that the Tomb Vampires do, which is why Jon is keeping an out on them. Alaric asks about Isobel a little too soon, but Damon takes over. Jon then calls Henry’s cell, but Alaric tells Damon not to answer it and they kill poor Henry immediately. Too bad. He didn’t seem like a bad vamp 😦

In the meantime, Jon offers Pearl safety in Mystic Falls if she hands over the device, but Pearl is not convinced. He then proceeds to tell her that John Gilbert loved Pearl and wished he had not of done what he did to her. Pearl falls for this and Jon reveals that John Gilbert actually despised her and his only regret was that he didn’t stake her himself. My disgust for this man grows more and more sceny by scene 😐 Pissed, Pearl tells Jon to go ask Damon about the device since he is the one who has it and Jon doesn’t look very jolly about this. Eat that skunky efftard!

Elena pleads Stefan to talk to her and Stefan tells her that a vamp must feed in order to turn, which Elena already knows from Vicki’s case. It’s flashback time again! [past] Stefan reveals himself to his dad who seems surprised (but not at all that much. He probably expected it too) and says he was there when they died. He pulled the trigger himself. Good going Daddy Salvatore <_< You’re really an asshat.  Stefan informs his dad that he was only there to say goodbye and that he didn’t want to turn. Daddy Salvatore though wants to finish the job he started and attacks Stefan with a broken wooden cane. Stefan though is way faster now and throws his father against the wall and staking him (unintetionally) in the process. Stefan runs to help his father but Daddy Salvatore is bleeding and Stefan yields and tastes it, inevitably turning.

[present]Elena gets it now, but wants to learn more so she begs Stefan to come upstairs and talk more, but he’s not ready, although she thinks he is. She leaves his ring for him to underline her trust in him to make the right decision. We then see Alaric and Damon still in Henry’s house. Alaric announces that he is giving up looking for Isobel, who apparently doesn’t want to be found. Damon jokes that 2 years are too few since he’s been looking for Katherine for more than 140 years. It’s fun to see Alaric and Damon get all buddy-buddy. It is a promise for lols 😛  Alaric says he’s over with looking for Isobel and that he doesn’t want to know what made Isobel change her mind about life with him.

Anna returns home to find Pearl packing everything, ready to leave. Anna begs her mother to stay, but Pearl says that they are not safe as long as Jon Gilbert is in town. She also tells her daughter that she really can’t make force her and that it’s her decision.

Damon returns to the mansion to find Elena reading on the sofa. He then proceeds in sitting himself next to her pulling her feet on his lap in the process (!!!!!!) Elena tells him Stefan still hasn’t fed and reprimands Damon  for giving Stefan so much hell for getting Katherine caught, which is not helping with Stefan’s conscience. She claims that Damon is to blame as much as Stefan is but then Damon drops the bomb… and it’s flashback time!

Damon is waiting to die when Stefan brings him a girl that he has compelled. Stefan reveals what happened between Stefan and their father and  tells Damon that Katherine was right about being a vampire, saying that it is a “whole new world” where you can turn feelings of guilt and anger off like a switch. Damon doesn’t want to live, but Stefan eventually convinces him to drink from the girl. I really didn’t see that coming. I always thought that Damon would be the all vampy-happy brother. Elena now gets it and runs to see Stefan who is not in the cage and has left the ring behind. Oops :s

Anna chooses to leave with her mother and goes to tell goodbye to Jeremy who is sleeping. Which was cute in a way but the [creepy] vampire that gets into your room and watches you while you’re asleep has never been my thing. I find it utterly disturbing to have someone (uninvited)  in your room while you’re sleeping o_O

[Past] Damon is now the usual Damon we came to know and (?)love. He tells Stefan that since they will be together for all eternity, he will make sure to make Stefan as miserable as possible. Stefan flashes back and forth between past and present for a moment and settles on past again where Emily appears and tells Stefan that because, even as a vampire, he’s still pure at heart this will be his curse and cause of grief. Ow ow ow ow.

[present] Elena finds Stefan by the lake. Stefan says he wants to end it all, because of the pain that he has caused others and that he can’t deal with that guilt any more. Elena then reveals to Stefan what happened the night of the car accident that killed her parents. She had skipped family night to go to a party and got stranded and her parents came and got her, which resulted in their death. OUCH :S Stefan moans about how he is afraid that if he gives up the fight to not drink blood, the next person he hurts will be Elena. She, however, gives Stefan his ring and asks him to make a choice: stay and fight by putting on the ring or toss it in the lake and wait to die. Then she kisses him and walks away and Stefan puts on the ring and runs after her and they start kissing again.

Harper is helping Pearl pack her things as well as pack his own. Pearl saved him so his loyalty lies there. Pearl offers to help with the bags, goes to the door and when she opens it is met with an fraking stake straight to the heart!!!!!  We can see Pearl instantly die as Harper is craddling her.

Elena and Stefan return to the mansion. Stefan wants to talk to Damon and thank him for the help. Damon says that all of Damon’s decisions are his to mope over, not Stefan’s. Apparently Damon has loads of guilt stocked up. Damon then reveals that Emily had waited till after they were turned to tell Damon about the protective spell over the tomb as she feared it might affect their decision.  Stefan asks why didn’t Damon tell him, and Damon answers that he hates Stefan, not because he convinced him to become a vampire, but because Katherine turned Stefan as well. Way to act like a child Damon… it is Katherine’s fault, not Stefan’s >:|

Anna returns home to find BOTH her mom and Harper dead.  She breaks down crying and screaming for her mother not to leave her again. Outside, we see none else than fraktard Jon who throws a stake gun into his trunk and calls Sheriff Forbes about new info on the vamp problem. @#$%@%@

The episode ends with Alaric drinking alone in the bar but someone comes to talk to him and that someone is none other than Isobel. Dun dun DUN!!

O____o

<!– @page { size: 8.5in 11in; margin: 0.79in } P { margin-bottom: 0.08in } –>Wow. The episode was CRAMMED. Crammed I tell you! Daddy Salvatore killing his own children. AMAGAD BITCH that is one cold thing to do :S I also was totally caught off guard by Pearl’s death. I honestly never saw it coming and I am very sad she’s gone. Poor Anna 😦 Jon is one hell of a villain. Honestly, David Anders does a fantastic job. I bet he’s being spit upon on the street lmao.

Stefan convincing Damon to turn was another unexpected part. This proves Stefan way more dangerous than Damon since Damon is predictable to a point. And gah, Isobel showing up in the end o_o I kinda expected it since Alaric gave her up and all and the next ep is called “Isobel”. By the way, ‘Isobel’ as a name drives me nuts. I love “Isabelle” but “Isobel” ugh.. 😐

That’s all for this week folks, stay tuned for the Supernatural recap. Here are some screencaps for the while you wait 😀

Why? Because Damon was madly in love with Katherine and thought she’d only turn him. Damon leaves but Emily shows up

Oh man… Stefan kinda says that’s not the same thing, but Elena doesn’t give up.

They

Back at the vamps nest, Harper helps Pearl pack her things as well as pack his own. His allegiance is with Pearl, he declares. Pearl offers to help with the bags and when she opens the door, she is met with an ARROW TO THE HEART!!!!!! She dies instantly as Harper cradles her.

Damon and Alaric’s Bogus Trip

Old Classics #3: Stargate SG-1 8×18 Threads

Posted in Old Classics, Stargate with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on April 26, 2010 by Geek Tv

This is probably the most discussed SG-1 episode EVER! Its title, Threads, is almost literal since a lot of loose ends are tied up in it.. If you are a Sam/Jack shipper, like I am, then this episode was heaven for you.

So what’s it about?

Ba’al is missing, but finally the Jaffa are free after millennia of slavery under false Gods. Teal’c and Bra’tac are knighted Bloodkin by the new Free Jaffa Nation, the highest honour that can be bestowed on a Jaffa, at the Temple of Dakara. When the Jaffa bow to them in respect, Bra’tac makes them stand, for he declares that no Jaffa shall ever bow before another person, and furthermore, never again bow before a false god.

With the Replicators destroyed and the Goa’uld defeated, the SGC is a little more peaceful. Somewhere out there, Anubis remains, but they can ignore that for now. However, perhaps because it’s too peaceful, Jack refuses to accept that Daniel is dead, not wanting to be “tricked” as last time, when Daniel managed to Ascend and then come back to life much later. However, they all know that Daniel was on RepliCarter’s ship when it was destroyed,

which gives him zero chance of being alive.

And as we know from the previous episode, Daniel was indeed killed. However, the visions of Oma Desala which RepliCarter forged for Daniel may not have been as empty as they seemed – for Daniel finds himself in a strange ethereal diner, a cafe, full of people, where the waitress is Oma Desala herself. This place seems to be some kind of strange Ascended metaphor. Daniel seats himself and talks to Oma. She explains that she has once again given him the choice to Ascend and live, or die. If he Ascends, he must accept that he can never help his friends again (as that’s against the rules). If he leaves the diner, he dies. It is a difficult choice for Daniel. He knows that last time he couldn’t resist breaking the rules.

The diner is full of other Ascended Ancients, none of whom will talk to Daniel because that’s beneath them. One other man, however, a large, fat man, seems to be arguing with Oma. Daniel talks to this man, who talks back, calling himself Jim. The man seems some kind of rebel who doesn’t take too much notice of the pedantic rules of the others. Jim is reading a newspaper called The Ascended Times which details happenings in the mortal world. It describes that Anubis is tricking the new Free Jaffa Nation so that he can take back Dakara. If Anubis captures Dakara, the whole galaxy could be destroyed, as Anubis wishes to use the Dakara Superweapon to kill all life in the galaxy. Daniel knows that he must help his friends out before it’s too late, but can’t work out how he can do it. He screams at the others, but they do not even turn.

The Free Jaffa Nation attacks a decoy of Kull Warriors and weakens its hold on Dakara. Against warnings, they do not destroy the Dakara Superweapon. Now Anubis attacks Dakara and takes it back. It is now only a small matter of time before he destroys the entire galaxy.

In the meantime, Sam is ( thank GOD) questioning her decision to marry Pete, even going so far as to visit Jack unannounced to discuss it and is about to spill the beans about how she feels for him, only to find him there with Kerry Johnson (a CIA agent heading up the investigation into Goa’uld still at large after an incident with the Trust), with whom he is in a (secret) relationship with. Jack looks beaten on the verge of drunk, spilling beer everywhere and probably damning the moment he hooked up with Kerry. Awkwardness ensues but then Sam gets a call from the SGC. Her father, Jacob Carter,  informs her that Selmak is dying, and that he will have to die with him, apologising because he will miss her wedding. Until Jacob’s eventual death, she speaks with him and with Jack about her happiness at the closeness she and her father have enjoyed over the past several years. During one conversation with Jacob, he tells her that he wants her to be happy, that she can still have everything she wants, and not to let (the fraking) rules stand in her way, implying that she should leave Pete for Jack. Meanwhile Kerry, though she liked Jack and thought they were “good together,” breaks up with him after she sensed the feelings he still had for Samantha Carter. They parted on good terms; before leaving, she advised Jack that he was making a mistake by letting Air Force regulations prevent them from being happy together, (you go girl, best antagonist ever :P) advising him to retire, and inferring that even as a civilian he could still run the SGC, as a civilian (Dr Elizabeth Weir) had been appointed to run the SGC before. After Kerry leaves, Jack visits the infirmary to comfort Sam, they hug as Jacob is dying and Sam is stroking Jack’s hand. In the meantime the Shippers exploded and the explosion brought out thousands of penguins and soon after, Jacob dies; his last words are to Sam: “I love you.” After Jacob’s death, Sam ends her relationship with Pete.

Back in the Ascended Diner, Oma explains that she has gotten in trouble before for helping people like Daniel Ascend, and she has been punished. There are deep-seated rules in the Ascended universe that not even she would dare to break. There seems to be something sinister about Oma’s connection with Jim, whatever it is. At the last moment, Daniel works it out. Anubis is half-Ascended, and it was Oma that helped him Ascend. Anubis had tricked her into thinking he was not evil, and as a punishment for breaking the rules, the others didn’t totally de-Ascend Anubis, but gave him his current power, the ability to destroy the galaxy and vent his evil. And the final piece of the puzzle clicks in place – Jim is Anubis – Anubis’ chosen manifested form in his half-protrusion into the Ascended realm.

Back on Earth, the gate dials, and they can’t stop it. Anubis has dialed every gate in the galaxy and prepares to unleash the superweapon. O’Neill, Teal’c and Carter can do nothing but wait for their fate. O’Neill begins the SGC’s autodestruct sequence. It looks like it’s the end.

However, back in the Ascended realm, Daniel has persuaded Oma. She must take responsibility for the mistake she made which has caused Anubis to be able to unleash so much evil, and she will not allow him to commit this greatest evil now. She stands up to fight Anubis, and all of the other ancients turn in surprise. Anubis laughs, saying that she cannot possibly defeat him, both of them being equally matched. Oma knows this, but also knows that so long as she is fighting him then he’ll have to fight back, taking him out of the cosmos and locking him into an eternal ethereal battle with her. The two of them collide and disappear in a flurry of light, locked in eternal combat. Anubis is gone from the universe forever.

Then two miracles occur. The Dakara Superweapon shuts down, and the autodestruct at the SGC freezes itself and shuts off. The Stargate’s wormhole closes. It’s over.

Back in the briefing room, they can’t understand what’s happened. Anubis just disappeared. Teal’c and Bra’tac tell Sam and Jack that the Kull Warriors the Free Jaffa Nation were fighting suddenly became confused, as if their master were no longer there to tell them what to do. Anubis’ forces are destroyed, leaving the team wondering whether it was Daniel’s work and thinking that he might have ascended again.

At that moment, they hear Daniel’s voice coming from inside Jack’s office. Jack goes to investigate and finds Daniel naked (as before). Jack hands Daniel a flag (choosing the SGC flag over the American flag) to cover himself up, and Daniel enters the briefing room, alive and himself once more.

The final scene is of Sam and Jack, sitting very relaxed and close to each other, fishing at Jack’s cabin. She remarks on how they “should have done this years ago,” while Jack replies that they shouldn’t dwell on it. We don’t know if they refer to fishing or their relationship but fishing has become the equivalent of intimacy between Sam and Jack (like pie=danger in SPN) anyway. She remarks that there are no fish in the pond, and when Jack agrees she laughs. Daniel and Teal’c appear around the corner carrying lawn chairs and a cooler, having joined them on the trip, and the episode ends as Jack and Sam continue to cast out their fishing lines, smiling and happy.

That was awesome I want to know more!

  • It is thought that Sam and Jack began their relationship at the end of this episode; according to producer Joseph Malozzi: “Still, despite the lack of official confirmation, it was only natural that [she and O’Neill] should get together after the events of Threads and, in my mind, they have been together ever since.”
  • Several times, both Sam and Jacob refer to Jacob’s near-death in “The Tok’ra“, in SG-1’s second season, as being four years ago. Either only four years have passed between the second and eighth seasons, or this is an error, and should be six years. However, it is also possible that his prognosis was that his death would not be immediate, in which case the remarks would be correct.
  • In the paper that Daniel is reading part of a headline which reads: ‘Wraith on the way to Atlantis‘ can be seen, along with a screenshot of the Atlantis Deep Space Scanner display from the Stargate Atlantis episode “The Brotherhood“, showing the trio of hive ships that assaulted the city in the Atlantis episode “The Siege“.
  • The Restaurant Shown at the beginning of Threads is identical (and possibly even the same set) to “Der Waffle Haus” shown in the hit series Dead Like Me. Daniel Jackson is even shown to sit at the same table that the “reapers” favor in their show.
  • Other paper headlines include:
    • Jackson still undecided
    • Astral Diner to be given infinite status.
    • Yoga NOT the path to enlightenment.
    • Ethereal Awareness Seminar to be held in Talnak Quadrant.
    • Edge of Universe Discovered.
    • Anubis plans to retake Dakara
      • Exclusive information on his quest to destroy all life in the Milky Way galaxy
      • He’s back again and he’s badder than ever
    • Consciousness superhighway to go through
      • Cognitive work slated to begin [after] completion of precognitive testing
      • Gondolthian nebula
    • Secret plan revealed
      • Anubis’ dastardly plan to regain Ancient weapon of destruction
    • Memoirs Laundry
    • Family of Four Drowns in Transcendental Waterfall

Was there any important/funny quotes in the episode?

(At Ethereal Diner)
Daniel
: No Menus?
Oma
: We don’t need them here, just order what you like.
Daniel
: Okay I’ll have truth with side order of clarity, please.

Sam: [O’Neill’s arm is around her shoulders and she is leaning into him, for comfort] Thank you, sir.
Jack: For what?
Sam: For being here for me.
Jack: [pauses and looks at her] Always.
(And as always, Shippers explode)

Sam: This is great. I can’t believe we didn’t do this years ago.
Jack
: Yes, well, let’s not dwell.
Sam
: There are no fish in this pond, are there?
Jack
: Nope.

Daniel: Can you tell me why you stopped me from killing Anubis the last time I was Ascended?
Oma Desala
: Because if I didn’t stop you the others would have, and they wouldn’t have been as nice about it.
Daniel
: You mean they wouldn’t have erased my memory and left me naked on a planet?
Oma Desala
: That was your choice.
[Daniel looks at Oma incredulously]
Oma Desala
: Okay, maybe not the naked part.

Sam: Sir, I wanted to talk to you about…
Jack
: Carter.
Sam
: We haven’t heard from him in a week.
Jack
: Doesn’t mean anything.
Sam
: Sir, we know he was captured by replicators. Chances are, he was on board a replicator ship when it disintegrated.
Jack
: All we know for sure is that he’s missing.
Sam
: Sooner or later…
Jack
: Forget it! I’m not fallin’ for it this time.
Sam
: Falling for it?
Jack
: Yeah. How many times have you thought he was gone, and then he shows up… in one form or another? I’m sorry, but we’re not having a memorial service for someone who is not dead.
[to the air]
Jack
: You hear that? I’m not buyin’ it!
[turns back to Carter who is staring at him]
Jack
: What? He’s just waitin’ for us to say a bunch of nice things about him. Next thing ya know, he’ll come waltzin’ through that door, like, right now.
[they look at the door]
Jack
: Waltzing… now…

Oma Desala: Frank, I need a Noah’s boy in a blanket, two hen fruit wreaked on a shingle with a mystery in the alley, a warmy with a moldy lid, and two checkerboards, alright?
Frank: Got it.
Oma Desala
: Oh yeah, hold the pig.

Jack: So… what brings you to this neck of the woods,
on such a fine day, in my backyard?
Sam
: Well actually, I’ve been sitting in your driveway for the last ten minutes, trying to work up the nerve to come and talk to you. The truth is, I’ve been trying to work
up the nerve for a lot longer than that.
Jack
: Oh?
Sam
: Pete put a downpayment down on a house. It’s a beautiful house. But… The truth is, I’m having second thoughts about the wedding.
Jack
: Why?
Sam
: See, the thing is, the closer it gets, the more I get the feeling that… I’m making a big, huge mistake.
Jack
: Look Carter, I don’t know what…
Sam
: I’m sorry to bother you with this but, see, there’s actually a good reason that I’m bothering you with this and if I don’t tell you now, I might never…
Kerry
: Jack, I looked everywhere, but I could not… Colonel Carter!
Jack : Miss Johnson… We were just meeting here, in my backyard on this fine day to discuss the state of affairs. [splashes beer everywhere]
Kerry
: Well this is awkward.
Sam
: Ya think?

Come on! Gimme a trailer! Or some scenes!

Stills?

Always a pleasure

Doctor Who 5×04 Time of the Angels Recap (Finally :P) – Spoilers

Posted in Doctor who with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on April 26, 2010 by Geek Tv

I loved it. The end.

Kidding 😛

Not that I didn’t love it. I really did. I could babble for hours about it and go into an in-depth analysis and whatnot but we all know that it would bore you, no? The episode begins with a dude spinning in a meadow, bird chirping, the sun is shining and the dude is apparently full of drugs 😛 Turns out that he was kissed by someone wearing halluciogenic lipstick (where can I get one? :D) and we’re informed that she is here. The she in question, wears a killer pair of red heels and is none else than River Song!

Next we see Amy and the Doctor in a museum (The Delirium Archive) thing where the Doctor whines about stuff being wrong and Amy whines about wanting to visit a planet. The Doctor is claiming ownership on other things until they come upon a box that has ancient high Gallifreyan all over it. As the Doctor says “There were days, there were many days, these words could burn stars and raise up empires and topple Gods. “ Those words are “Hello Sweety” ROFLMAO Typical River, what was it last time? Message on the psychic paper signed xoxo if I recal correctly XD Anyway, the Doctor steals the box and plays the security recording in it that shows what happened on that ship. Basically River is toying with some soldiers who are about to execute her and sends coordinates to the Doctor, 12.000 years later so as to go and pick her up. She then blasts the ship door open and noone can deny that this woman might not be all doll-pretty but sure has buckets of style. Sure enough the TARDIS materialises and the Doctor welcomes her with open arms. Quite literally. Then at her command he follows the ship River was on.

River sure knows her way round the TARDIS, makes herself comfy by removing her heels and hanging them on the control screens and gives the Doctor some important flying lessons that leave Amy highly amused. They end up in Alfava Metraxis, the 7th planet of the Dundra System and see that the ship ( The Byzantium) has crashed on an Aplan Temple on top of a massive mausoleum (The Byzantium Crash was mentioned by River in Silence in the library). Then River asks the Doctor to sonic her so as to make her mobile a beacon for her team to home to. The team arrives and it turns out it’s a bunch of troops who aren’t troops but clerics.  It’s the 51st century and the Church has apparently moved on. Their leader, Father Octavian asks if they know what they’re up against to and River drops the bomb. It’s a Wheeping Angel. Remember those creepy frakers from Blink? Yes. The very same. Only harder, better, faster, stronger.

The Doctor freaks out a little because they end up looking for a stone angel in a place full of stone statues. Amy then asks if River is his wife and remarks that River talks to the Doctor as if they’re married. The Doctor answers “Yes” to mock her but he doesn’t really know either. River calls the Doctor to show him the video she got from the Byzantium vault. It’s 4 seconds long and on a loop and the Doctor confirms is an Angel. In addition to that, the planet has apparently been terraformed since the indigenous species is extinct and that there are now 6 billion human inhabitants on Alfava Metraxis. That’s right champs. All the current world population 😛

The clerics work out they should bomb their way in the mausoleum to make their way up to the ship and while they’re at it, River shows the Doctor a book on the Angels and asks him how early they are on his timeline and he says it’s way too early. Amy, disappointed that noone wanted her help for anything goes to see the angel video again. She seems a bit mesmerised by it and suddenly notices that the Angel has moved. The Doctor wonders why there aren’t any pictures in the book and come upon a very disturbing passage: ‘That which holds the image of an angel becomes itself an angel.’ I mean it hardly gets any creepier than that right *shudder* Sure enough the angel on the video starts coming out of the screen and into the room Amy is in. Freaked, she tries to get out but everything has locked, the Doctor can’t sonic it open and panicking starts telling her not to blink, not to look it in the eyes and the thing he found out about the angel’s image. Amy proves what a smart cookie she is by pausing the tape on a blip. Everything flungs open just in time for the explosion that opens the way into the mausoleum.

Before they proceed to search for the loose Angel, Father Octavian pulls River on the side and asks her if the Doctor knows what and who she is. River says it’s too early for him with a sad look on her face. When Father Octavian warns her not to let the Doctor figure it out or he wouldn’t help them she wears a look of disgust and tells him she doesn’t wanna go back to prison D: I must admit I took it completely wrong the first time I watched it and thought River was a villain but upon rewatch I noticed the looks on River’s face and now I am convinced she is probably blackmailed by the Church and her only deal out is to lend them the Doctor. Two clerics, Angelo and Christian are investigating when stone rumbles and Christian tells Angelo that he has to come and see what he found. Angelo is looking for him and we see the Angel inbetween the shadows.

The Doctor hears gunfire and runs towards it. Turns out a spooked cleric, Bob, went amok on a decorative statue because he thought it look at him. The Bishop starts to reprimand him but the Doctor jumps in, in his defense and says that whoever isn’t scared is a moron. The Doctor declares something’s wrong but he can’t quite put his finger on it. There’s some funny banter about the builders of the temple, the Aplans, who had two heads and tendencies for self marriage (on which laws were made afterwards). Suddenly, the Doctor and River realise what was eating them. The Aplans had two heads so why the statues only have one? Are you guys spooked yet? Cause this really made me froze in horror. Yep, the whole fraking lot of the six floor mausoleum statues are all Wheeping Angels. Yep. I’m going to need a moment with kittens and sunshine to recover.

Anyway, the Doctor figures the Angels are starved and currently restoring by feeding on the leaking energy from the ship’s crash. Meanwhile, Bob tries to get hold of Angelo and Christian and when they reply on the radio they insist he should go and see what they’ve found. This will end ugly :/ The Bishop radios Bob and informs him that all the statues are now active. Bob says he’s sorry because Christian and Angelo are dead, the angels (oddly enough) snapped their necks and ohh surprise! they have also snapped Bob’s neck as well and then ripped his skull stuff off to reproduce his consciousness so as to communicate with them.  He then informs them the Angel is on his way to them. They all start running away but Amy stays behind. Her hand has turned into stone. The Doctor insists the Angel is messing with her head and tries to make her believe him but she doesn’t. The Angels are clsoing in on them and the Doctor bites Amy to prove her hand isn’t stone. In pain Amy starts running away while whining at the Doctor for leaving her a mark with his space teeth. I laughed so hard 😀

The Clerics and River find the Byzantium but it is 30 feet above them and there’s no way out. Bob calls the Doctor again and tells him the Angels will be there soon and also the reason the Angels wanted him to communicate that much. This was to let the Doctor know that he has let Bob down and even though he promised him his fear would help him stay alive, he died in pain and alone.

There’s something the Angels are very keen you should know before the end. I died in fear. You told me my fear would keep me alive but I died afraid, in pain and alone. You made me trust you, and when it mattered, you let me down. I’m sorry, sir. The Angels were very keen for you to know that.

~Sacred Bob

The Doctor, extremely angered by the Angels mocking his value for life like that, says the Angels did their second big mistake. He then asks everyone if they trust him (To which River replies Always and I am now 100% sure she’s blackmailed and not a villain). When everyone says they trust the Doctor, he say that he’s about to do something very very stupid and dangerous and when he does they should all jump as high as they can. He then declares that if someone values their existence and want to build a successful trap there’s one thing they should never put in it. That is of course the Doctor himself, who takes the Bishop’s gun and shoots the gravity globe that held the light hovering above them.

And that’s it. The credits roll and I’m left with my mouth hanging open, having forgotten this is a two parter and that I don’t have the fraking DVD like I did when I watched the previous seasons! Damn damn damn!

All in all, I love the episode, it moved pretty fast and if possible left more questions about River. I love this woman, she has style, she’s cheeky and she knows the Doctor’s real name 😮 I am a sucker for romance so I really hope River is a love interest of the Doctor’s. The only thing I can do is brood and wait for the next episode and probably produce some fanart while waiting. If I find my wacom stylus -.- I wanted to write more but it’s 3 am, it’s a working day tomorrow and I’ll have to wake up when my son does so Goodnight from me but it is Picspam time for you so fasten your seatbelts.

Supernatural: 5×19 Hammer of the Gods recap

Posted in Supernatural with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on April 24, 2010 by Geek Tv

Welcome to the hotel california
Such a lovely place
Such a lovely face

NOT!!!

Ok, now that I got your attention I should say up front that I loved the last SPN episode so if you hated it stop reading now cause I enjoyed it much and I’m very cranky when people disagree with me, lol 😀

The episode starts with an apparently abandoned hotel. The first dude we meet in the hotel shouts “Dead man walking” all over the place and sure enough a  bellboy appears and kills him before the splash screen and apparently the dude is the… dinner o__O

Sam and Dean drive in a storm and arrive at the (now fully illuminated) Elysian Fields Hotel. The place looks far from abandoned and quite at the luxurious side of the road. A man checks them in and points that Dean has a shaving nick which seems very weird since Dean hadn’t noticed before. He then directs them to the all-you-can-eat 24 hour buffet with the best pie in the tri-state. As a good spn fan knows pie in SPN=trouble. As Dean is eating, Sam, insists they should hit the road despite the storm but Dean insists he’s not giving up and they go to their room. On the way they bump into a couple kissing in the hallway and Dean wears a really silly smile on his face 😛

The brothers’ room turns out really polished and even includes porn, chocolate and funky beds. Sam wonders why there’s a four-star hotel in the middle of nowhere. They hear the couple in the room next door and the wall shakes with a heavy impact. They go tocheck if everything’s okay but the couple seems to have disappeared. Dean finds a wedding ring but nothing else. They talk to the clerk, who informs them that the Logans have checked out andputs the ring in the lost and found. The Winchesters of course, don’t buy it and split up to investigate. Sam follows the clerk, who disappears in a dead-end hallway but as he looks around, Sam feels a pinch on his neck and discovers a cut very similar to the one Dean had when they checked in. In the meantime, Dean is searching the hallways (with my long lost beloved  EMF meter ♥♥ I missed you buddy!!) when he walks past an elephant and of course sees nothing but a man when he doublechecks.

A very attractive woman (who Dean tried to hit on earlier) and a man are talking when the clerk comes in and informs them that everyone is there and that he’s stolen the brothers’ blood. (AHA!)  Tada! Turns out to be Mercury ( I was really disappointed they chose the Roman name instead of the Greek Hermes… 😥  )

Dean tells Sam what he saw and they discover that they’re locked up in the Hotel California and everyone else has gone. They go to the kitchen and Dean checks the soup in which despite his wishes are not tomatoes but human eyeballs. Sam checks out the walk-in freezer and several people start pounding on the window. OK I expected this because of the tone the music had but it still scared the crap out of me 😛 Two men appear and force the brothers to the main ballroom. The main guests are there, wearing hello stickers (LMAO) with their names on and it (duh) turns out they’re all Gods. Some of them: Ganesh, Kali, Odin, Baldur, Baron Samedi and several others who didn’t mention their name.(this reminded me so much of my beloved SG-1 and the Goa’uld) Mercury arrives and serves the really gross severed head of the security guard. Baldur then announces that their guests of honor, the Winchesters, have arrived.

Everyone sits and Baldur reminds everyone that rampant slaughtering of each other isn’t allowed as they’re supposed to put their disagreements aside and look to the future. There’s a really funny sequence where the Gods argue about whose apocalypse is better (apart from the Christian one the Norse is my fave, sorry rest of religions 😛 ) and Dean and Sam try to slip away but Kali, stops them and says that the angels will only understand violence. When Mercury suggests talking she makes him bleed until Baldur stops her. My favourite villain of all times (bar the YED) Gabriel aka Loki aka The Trickster suddenly arrives but the Gods don’t seem to know he’s an archangel. Gabriel admits that they can’t stop the Apocalypse and then teleports Sam and Dean to their room so the grown ups can talk in private. The brothers are extremely freaked out and uber boned and figure they should free the prisoners. Just then Gabriel teleports in and explains that he’s there to save them because he and Kali have history. Sam suggests that they might have the gods fight Lucifer but Gabriel warns that they don’t stand a chance. When Dean suggests Gabriel sneak them out, he explains that they’re leashed to the hotel by a blood spell.

Gabriel appears in Kali’s room and flirts with her, those two obviously have history and Gabriel wasn’t lying. Dean and Sam try to sneak out through the ballroom, but can only watch as the gods kill one of the human guests. Gabriel suggests that they should run and there’s no way that they can fight. Kali insists that she has to, and they kiss. Sam tries to pick the lock of the freezer but Zao Jun attacks him. However, Dean sneaks up on him and manages to stab him in the chest. Gabriel tries to get the brothers’ vials of blood, but Kali scratches him with her fingernails and says that he’s hers (Gabriel is mine! :P).

Dean and Sam are brought back to the ballroom with Gabriel and Kali explains that she knew who Gabriel is all along, and that he has something she wants. She takes his archangel blade and tells everyone who he is. Gabriel explains that he’s a runaway but Kali insists that there are billions of other gods that were there first and if someone is going to frak up the world it has to be her. She then stabs Gabriel in the chest with his archangel blade and he apparently dies. With no other options left, Dean gets up and tells the Gods that he’s going to help them kill Lucifer by summoning the Prince of Darkness but they have to let the human guests go. The gods agree but as Dean helps them out he sees Gabriel hiding in the Impala. Ha, did you really believe he was gone that easilyq Cause I didn’t =) Gabriel explains that it was a fake sword but he needs Dean to get the blood and free them all. Dean suggests Gabriel should help them because they are all out of other options. Gabriel declares he’s going to leave, but Dean says it takes one to know one, and he knows Gabriel still cares about them. Gabriel admits he can’t kill his brother, but Dean asks if he can’t or won’t. When Gabriel doesn’t answer, Dean figures he’s right and leaves.

Sam tells Kali to remove the sigils from his ribs so Lucifer can find him. But before she can do it Dean arrives and tells them that Gabriel tricked them and that the sword would have no effect on Luci. Summoned or not by rinbs or a phonecall, Lucifer arrives at the front desk and Mercury is expecting him. Being who he is he has betrayed everyone and summoned Lucifer out of fear of what the other gods would do. Lucifer is unimpressed, comments on how the pagan gods are so petty, and snaps Mercury’s without a second thought. So much for being fast Merc.

In the ballroom, the lights flicker and Lucifer easily smashes his way through the other gods and starts killing them off one by one. Whne it is Kali’s turn she bursts into flames to defend herself. Lucifer however smashes her and is about to kill her when Gabriel appears with Sam and Dean, gives them a porn DVD and tells them to guard it with their lives (ROFLMFAO). He then smashes Lucifer back and helps Kali up, wielding the archangel’s blade. He tells Sam and Dean to get her out, while Lucifer notes that he’s slumming. Gabriel accuses him of playing the victim even though God loved him more than any other angel until God created his new baby, humans. Now it’s time to grow up.

Outside, Dean and Sam drive away with Kali as the storm grows. Inside, Gabriel says that he doesn’t care about Michael either, and that his loyalty is to people in the meantime a second Gabriel is sneaking up on Luci. Lucifer though turns and kills the real Gabriel with his blade, ignoring the illusion Gabriel. He finishes off his brother (for good this time) and looks down on his corpse, crying.

Apparently the day after, Dean and Sam stop off to watch Gabriel’s porn movie on their laptop. Gabriel is the actor in the movie, and then turns to tell Sam and Dean what the hell is going on. The pre-recorded message explains that he’s dead and they’ve got no chance of killing Lucifer. However, he explains that the cage that they sprung Lucifer from can still hold him, if they can get the cage open and trick Lucifer back into it while avoiding the angels. Most importantly, the four keys to the cage are out there: the four Rings of the Horsemen. If they can get all four rings, they can contain him. The brothers finally have some luck on their side as they already have two rings, and they just need the rings of Pestilence and Death. Hooray!

In a small shop, a store clerk is preparing to swat a fly when a man in a green car walks into the hotel. He coughs, sneezes repeatedly, and covers everything in snot and flies. I kept the entire time inverting my eyes and shouting insults to the telly while this dude was on. I read elsewhere, cause I couldn’t stand watching it that he bought some flu medicine and sneezes on the clerk. EW EW EW EW! USE A HAND YOU ASS!  As he leaves in his rusty car, there’s a swarm of flies in the car around him. His license plate reads SIKN TRD (sick and tired). Hello Pestilence, it was not a pleasure meeting you. YUCK. You made my hypohondriac cells take over my entire body D:

When I love a show, I love it for a reason and I usually stand up for it even if I believe the episode sub-par. As I said, I’m no critic, I’m just a fangirl/enthusiast/geek who wants to discuss her favourite shows. I feel obliged to write these things because I read some reviews on Hammer of the Gods and seems that several people found it outrageous and too much. Well I didn’t. I love SPN to pieces and I even stuck to it through the emoville phase. Maybe it’s the fact that I like the brothers’ chemistry that much. Maybe it’s the fantastic music of the show and maybe, just maybe, it has to do with my addiction to the paranormal and supernatural culture/stories/legends since I was very young that makes me adore this show.

I really liked Hammer of the Gods it had the right amounts of creepy, funny and lore to make me twitch for more. I will probably watch it again tomorrow (while I wait for Doctor Who) but I am sure this has made it into my favourite episodes list. I admit that it didn’t top the AMAGADFANTASTIC Point of no return but not all episodes can be that epic. Geek TV rates Hammer of the Gods a 9 which is absolutely symbolic as I don’t do ratings. With those out of the way, it is time for picspam!!

The following picspam is rated PG15 as it contains some gorey images
